- Tensioning wheel with tensioner
Our tensioning wheels are designed to meet all work requirements in tough conditions, ensuring reliability and long lifespan.
Quality of ITR Tensioning Wheels
Our range includes a wide selection of tensioning wheels, from mini-excavators to mining machines, ensuring high quality and performance. Starting from KUBOTA® K008 (with an operating weight of 0.9 tons) up to KOMATSU® D475 A5 (with an operating weight of 101 tons), we offer comprehensive solutions. Our engineering and R&D departments in Italy, South Korea, and China collaborate to combine know-how, technology, and development capabilities. Local engineering departments in each manufacturing facility possess specialized knowledge about the components produced, and the headquarters Italian Engineering coordinates all activities.
Functionality of ITR Tensioning Wheels
The function of the tensioning wheel is to properly tension and guide the track chain, ensuring its correct winding. The tensioning wheel and tensioner work together to maintain a specified degree of track tension. Efficient chain tension is a key factor affecting undercarriage durability. The optimal deflection for conventional tracks is about 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track on an 80-horsepower machine with a 12mm deflection will have a tension of 2540 kg when measured at the track tensioner. In contrast, the same machine, with the suggested 50mm deflection, will have a tension of 362 kg. Over-tensioned tracks increase pressure, leading to greater wear of the track bushings and drive sprocket teeth, as well as contact between the chain, tensioning wheel, and rollers. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and support rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication ensures minimal maintenance throughout the service life.
