They work with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for the durability of the undercarriage. Correct tension setting, for example, 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, significantly impacts wear and machine performance. For instance, an overly tightened chain can lead to greater wear of the track bushing and sprocket teeth. The appropriate hardness of the tread, equal to or greater than that of the chain links, as well as the running and support rollers, ensures resistance to damage and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.

Functionality of ITR Tensioning Wheels

The function of the tensioning wheel is to support the track chain and guide it to be properly wound. Additionally, the tensioning wheel and tensioner work together to maintain a specific degree of track tension. The most important controllable factor in undercarriage wear is correct chain tension. The correct sag for all conventional tracks is about 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track in an 80-horsepower machine with a 12mm sag will have a tension value of 2540 kg when measured at the track tensioner. The same machine with a suggested sag of 50mm will have a tension value of 362 kg. An excessively tightened track increases pressure, resulting in greater wear on the track bushings when in contact with the sprocket teeth and in the chain-tensioning wheel-roller contact. Tread hardness equal to or greater than chain links, track rollers, and support rollers ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material type: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC.
