Our Tension wheels are made from selected high-quality steel alloys and appropriately heat-treated to ensure exceptional field performance in extreme working conditions. We assemble them using state-of-the-art seals and bearing designs, meeting the most stringent industry specifications. Our Tension wheels are assembled on production lines with an automatic oil filling process, ensuring their reliability and durability.

Functionality of ITR Tension Wheels
The function of the tension wheel is to properly tension and guide the track chain, ensuring its correct winding. The tension wheel and tensioner work together to maintain a specific degree of track tension. Efficient chain tension is a key factor affecting the durability of the undercarriage. The optimal deflection for conventional tracks is about 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track in an 80-horsepower machine with a deflection of 12mm will have a tension of 2540 kg when measured in the track tensioner. However, the same machine, with a suggested deflection of 50mm, will have a tension of 362 kg. An excessively tensioned track increases pressure, leading to greater wear on the track bushing and drive wheel teeth, as well as contact between the chain and tension wheel and rollers. Appropriate hardness of the tread, equal to or greater than that of the chain links and the supporting rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication ensures minimized maintenance throughout the entire period of use.
