ITR Tension Wheel for KUBOTA KX161
Our Tension wheels are made from selected high-quality steel alloys and appropriately heat-treated to ensure exceptional field performance in extreme working conditions. We assemble them using state-of-the-art seals and bearing designs, meeting the most stringent industry specifications. Our Tension wheels are assembled on production lines with an automatic oil filling process, ensuring their reliability and durability.
Available in various configurations, including:
- Tension wheel shell
- Tension wheel with bushing and axle
- Tension wheel with brackets
- Tension wheel with fork
- Tension wheel with tensioner
Our Tension wheels are designed to meet all work requirements in harsh conditions, providing reliability and long service life.
Quality of ITR Tension Wheels
Our range includes a wide selection of tension wheels, from mini-excavators to mining machines, ensuring high quality and performance. Starting from KUBOTA® K008 (with an operating weight of 0.9 tons) up to KOMATSU® D475 A5 (with an operating weight of 101 tons), we offer comprehensive solutions. Our engineering and R&D departments in Italy, South Korea, and China work together to combine know-how, technology, and development capabilities. Local engineering departments in each production plant have specialized knowledge of the components produced, and the Italian Engineering headquarters coordinates all activities.
Functionality of ITR Tension Wheels
The function of the tension wheel is to correctly tension and guide the track chain, ensuring its proper winding. The tension wheel and tensioner work together to maintain a specific degree of track tension. Efficient chain tension is a key factor affecting the durability of the undercarriage. The optimal sag for conventional tracks is around 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track on a machine with 80-horsepower with a sag of 12mm will have a tension of 2540 kg when measured at the track tensioner. Meanwhile, the same machine, with the suggested sag of 50 mm, will have a tension of 362 kg. An overly tight track increases pressure, leading to greater wear of the track bushings and sprocket teeth, as well as contact of the chain with the tension wheel and rollers. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and travel and carrier rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Permanent lubrication ensures minimal maintenance throughout the service life.
