Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
Idler wheels are a key component in maintaining the proper tension and guidance of the track chain, which translates into its appropriate winding. They work with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for the durability of the undercarriage. Correct tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, has a significant impact on machine wear and efficiency. For example, an overly tight chain can lead to increased wear of the track bushing and drive wheel teeth. The appropriate hardness of the tread, equal to or greater than the chain links and support and carrier rollers, ensures damage resistance and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.
