Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
Idler wheels are a key component in maintaining proper tension and guiding of the track chain, which affects its proper winding. They work with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for the undercarriage's durability. Correct tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, has a significant impact on wear and machine performance. For example, an overly tensioned chain can lead to greater wear of the track bushings and sprocket teeth. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and support and riding rollers, ensures resistance to damage and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.
