ITR Tensioning Wheel for CASE 28
Our Idler wheels are made from selected high-quality steel alloys and appropriately heat-treated to ensure exceptional field performance in extreme working conditions. We install them using the latest seals and bearing designs, meeting the industry's most stringent specifications. Our Idler wheels are assembled on production lines with an automatic oil filling process, ensuring their reliability and durability.
Available in various configurations, including:
- Tensioning wheel shell
- Tensioning wheel with bushing and shaft
- Tensioning wheel with brackets
- Tensioning wheel with fork
- Tensioning wheel with tensioner
Our Idler wheels are designed to meet all requirements for working in tough conditions, providing reliability and long service life.
Quality of ITR Tensioning Wheels
Our range includes a wide selection of tensioning wheels, from mini excavators to mining machines, ensuring high quality and performance. Starting from KUBOTA® K008 (with an operating weight of 0.9 tons) to KOMATSU® D475 A5 (with an operating weight of 101 tons), we offer comprehensive solutions. Our engineering and R&D departments in Italy, South Korea, and China collaborate to combine know-how, technology, and development capabilities. Local engineering departments at each production facility have specialized knowledge of the components produced, while the Italian Engineering headquarters coordinates all activities.
Functionality of ITR Tensioning Wheels
The function of the tensioning wheel is to properly tension and guide the track chain, ensuring its correct winding. The tensioning wheel and tensioner work together to maintain a specific degree of track tension. Proper chain tension is a key factor affecting the durability of the undercarriage. The optimal sag for conventional tracks is about 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track on an 80-horsepower machine with a sag of 12mm will have a tension of 2540 kg at the time of measurement in the track tensioner. However, the same machine, at the recommended sag of 50 mm, will have a tension of 362 kg. An overly tight track increases pressure, leading to greater wear of the track bushings and sprocket teeth, as well as contact of the chain with the tensioning wheel and rollers. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and carrying rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication ensures minimal maintenance throughout the service life.
