Tension wheels ITR for mini excavators and compact loaders provide optimal track tension thanks to the use of the latest design and manufacturing technologies.
ITR Tension Wheel for IHI 20 NX
Our Tension wheels are made from selected high-quality steel alloys and suitably heat-treated to ensure exceptional field performance in extreme working conditions. We assemble them using state-of-the-art seals and bearing constructions, meeting the industry's most stringent specifications. Our Tension wheels are assembled on production lines with an automatic oil filling process, ensuring their reliability and durability.
They are available in various configurations, which include:
- Tension wheel shell
- Tension wheel with sleeve and shaft
- Tension wheel with brackets
- Tension wheel with fork
- Tension wheel with tensioner
Our Tension wheels are designed to meet all work requirements in challenging conditions, ensuring reliability and long service life.
Quality of ITR Tension Wheels
Our range includes a wide selection of tension wheels, from mini excavators to mining machines, ensuring high quality and performance. Starting from KUBOTA® K008 (with an operating weight of 0.9 tons) up to KOMATSU® D475 A5 (with an operating weight of 101 tons), we offer comprehensive solutions. Our engineering and R&D departments in Italy, South Korea, and China collaborate to combine know-how, technology, and development capabilities. Local engineering departments in each production facility possess specialized knowledge about the components produced, and the Italian Engineering headquarters coordinates all activities.
Functionality of ITR Tension Wheels
The function of the tension wheel is to properly tension and guide the track chain, ensuring its proper winding. The tension wheel and tensioner work together to maintain a specific degree of track tension. Efficient chain tension is a key factor influencing the durability of the undercarriage. Optimal deflection for conventional tracks is about 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track in an 80-horsepower machine with a deflection of 12mm will have a tension of 2540 kg when measured at the track tensioner. However, the same machine, with the suggested deflection of 50 mm, will have a tension value of 362 kg. An excessively tight track increases pressure, leading to greater wear on the track bushings and sprocket teeth, as well as contact between the chain and the tension wheel and rollers. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than that of the chain links and support and carrier rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication minimizes maintenance throughout the service life.
