Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
Idler wheels are a key element in maintaining proper tension and guidance of the track chain, which translates into proper winding. They work with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for the durability of the undercarriage. Correct tension setting, for example, 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, has a significant impact on wear and machine performance. For instance, an overly tight chain can lead to greater wear on the track bushing and drive wheel teeth. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and track rollers and supports, provides resistance to damage and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.
