Tension wheels ITR for mini excavators and compact loaders ensure optimal track tension by using the latest design and manufacturing technologies.
ITR Tension Wheel for KOMATSU PC07
Our tension wheels are made from selected high-quality steel alloys and are properly heat-treated to provide exceptional field performance in extreme working conditions. We assemble them using state-of-the-art seals and bearing designs, meeting the industry's most stringent specifications. Our tension wheels are assembled on production lines with an automatic oil filling process, ensuring their reliability and durability.
Available in various configurations, including:
- Tension wheel shell
- Tension wheel with bushing and shaft
- Tension wheel with brackets
- Tension wheel with fork
- Tension wheel with tensioner
Our tension wheels are designed to meet all work demands under difficult conditions, ensuring reliability and long life.
Quality of ITR Tension Wheels
Our range includes a wide selection of tension wheels, from mini excavators to mining machines, providing high quality and performance. Starting from KUBOTA® K008 (with an operating weight of 0.9 tons) up to KOMATSU® D475 A5 (with an operating weight of 101 tons), we offer comprehensive solutions. Our engineering and R&D departments in Italy, South Korea, and China collaborate to combine know-how, technology, and development capabilities. Local engineering departments in each production facility have specialized knowledge of the components produced, while the headquarters of Italian Engineering coordinates all activities.
Functionality of ITR Tension Wheels
The function of the tension wheel is to appropriately tension and guide the track chain, ensuring its proper winding. The tension wheel and the tensioner work together to maintain a specified degree of track tension. Efficient chain tension is a key factor affecting the durability of the undercarriage. The optimal deflection for conventional tracks is about 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track in an 80-horsepower machine with a 12mm deflection will have a tension of 2540 kg when measured at the track tensioner. In contrast, the same machine, with the suggested 50mm deflection, will have a tension of 362 kg. An overly tense track increases pressure, leading to greater wear on the track bushings and drive sprocket teeth, as well as increased contact of the chain with the tension wheel and rollers. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than that of the chain links and running and support rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication ensures minimal maintenance throughout the service life.
