Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
Idler wheels are a key component in maintaining proper tension and guiding the track chain, which translates to its correct winding. They work with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for the durability of the undercarriage. Correct tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, significantly impacts machine wear and performance. For example, an overly tight chain can lead to increased wear of the track bushing and drive wheel teeth. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than that of the chain links and travel and support rollers, ensures resistance to damage and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.
