Functionality of ITR Tensioner Wheels
The function of the tensioner wheel is to properly tension and guide the track chain, ensuring its proper winding. The tensioner wheel and tensioner work together to maintain a specified degree of track tension. Proper chain tension is a key factor affecting undercarriage durability. Optimal deflection for conventional tracks is approximately 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track on an 80-horsepower machine with a deflection of 12mm will have a tension of 2540 kg when measured at the track tensioner. Meanwhile, the same machine, at the recommended deflection of 50 mm, will have a tension value of 362 kg. An overly tensioned track increases pressure, leading to greater wear of the track bushing and drive sprocket teeth, as well as contact of the chain with the tensioner wheel and rollers. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and supporting and carrying rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication ensures minimal maintenance throughout the entire service life.
