Tension wheels ITR for mini excavators and compact loaders ensure optimal track tension through the use of latest design and manufacturing technologies.
ITR Tension Wheel for JCB T1110
Our tension wheels are made from selected high-quality steel alloys and properly heat-treated to ensure exceptional field performance in extreme working conditions. We assemble them using state-of-the-art seals and bearing designs that meet the most stringent industry specifications. Our tension wheels are assembled on production lines with an automatic oil filling process, ensuring their reliability and durability.
They are available in various configurations, which include:
- Tension wheel shell
- Tension wheel with bushing and shaft
- Tension wheel with brackets
- Tension wheel with fork
- Tension wheel with tensioner
Our tension wheels are designed to meet all work requirements in tough conditions, ensuring reliability and long lifespan.
Quality of ITR Tension Wheels
Our range includes a wide selection of tension wheels, from mini excavators to mining machines, ensuring high quality and performance. Starting from KUBOTA® K008 (with an operating weight of 0.9 tons) up to KOMATSU® D475 A5 (with an operating weight of 101 tons), we offer comprehensive solutions. Our engineering and R&D departments in Italy, South Korea, and China collaborate to combine know-how, technology, and development capabilities. Local engineering departments at each production facility possess specialized knowledge about the components produced, and the Italian Engineering headquarters coordinates all activities.
Functionality of ITR Tension Wheels
The function of the tension wheel is to properly tension and guide the track chain, ensuring its correct winding. The tension wheel and tensioner work together to maintain a specific degree of track tension. Proper chain tension is a critical factor affecting undercarriage durability. The optimal sag for conventional tracks is about 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track in an 80-horsepower machine with a sag of 12mm will have a tension of 2540 kg when measured at the track tensioner. However, the same machine, with the suggested sag of 50 mm, will have a tension of 362 kg. An overly tense track increases pressure, leading to greater wear of the track bushings and sprocket teeth, as well as contact between the chain and the tension wheel and rollers. Proper tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and support rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication minimizes maintenance throughout the lifespan.
