Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
Idler wheels are a key element in maintaining proper tension and guiding of the track chain, which affects its proper winding. They work in conjunction with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for the durability of the undercarriage. Proper tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, significantly impacts the wear and performance of the machine. For instance, an overly tightened chain may lead to increased wear on track bushings and drive wheel teeth. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and carrier rollers, ensures resistance to damage and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardness 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.
