Tension wheels ITR for mini excavators and compact loaders provide optimal track tension thanks to the use of the latest design and manufacturing technologies.
ITR Tension Wheel for KUBOTA U15
Our Tension wheels are made from selected high-quality steel alloys and are appropriately heat-treated to ensure exceptional field performance in extreme working conditions. We assemble them using state-of-the-art seals and bearing designs, meeting the industry's most stringent specifications. Our Tension wheels are assembled on production lines with an automatic oil filling process, ensuring their reliability and durability.
Available in various configurations, which include:
- Tension wheel shell
- Tension wheel with bushing and shaft
- Tension wheel with brackets
- Tension wheel with fork
- Tension wheel with tensioner
Our Tension wheels are designed to meet all work requirements in harsh conditions, ensuring reliability and long service life.
Quality of ITR Tension Wheels
Our range includes a wide selection of tension wheels, from mini excavators to mining machines, ensuring high quality and performance. Starting from KUBOTA® K008 (with an operating weight of 0.9 tons) up to KOMATSU® D475 A5 (with an operating weight of 101 tons), we offer comprehensive solutions. Our engineering and R&D departments in Italy, South Korea, and China collaborate to combine know-how, technology, and development capabilities. Local engineering departments at each production facility possess specialized knowledge about the components manufactured, and the headquarters of Italian Engineering coordinates all activities.
Functionality of ITR Tension Wheels
The function of the tension wheel is to properly tension and guide the track chain, ensuring it winds correctly. The tension wheel and tensioner work together to maintain a specific degree of track tension. Efficient chain tension is a key factor affecting the durability of the undercarriage. The optimal slack for conventional tracks is about 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track in a machine with 80 horsepower with a slack of 12mm will have a tension of 2540 kg at the time of measurement in the track tensioner. However, the same machine, with the suggested slack of 50 mm, will have a tension value of 362 kg. An excessively tight track increases pressure, leading to greater wear on the track bushings and sprocket teeth, as well as contact between the chain and the tension wheel and rollers. Proper tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and running and support rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication minimizes maintenance throughout the entire service life.
