- Idler wheel shell
- Idler wheel with bushing and shaft
- Idler wheel with brackets
- Idler wheel with fork
- Idler wheel with tensioner
Our Idler wheels are designed to meet all working requirements in harsh conditions, providing reliability and long lifespan.
Quality of ITR Idler Wheels
Our range includes a wide selection of idler wheels, from mini excavators to mining machinery, ensuring high quality and performance. Starting from KUBOTA® K008 (with an operating weight of 0.9 tons) up to KOMATSU® D475 A5 (with an operating weight of 101 tons), we offer comprehensive solutions. Our engineering and R&D departments in Italy, South Korea, and China collaborate to combine know-how, technology, and development capabilities. Local engineering departments in each production facility possess specialized knowledge about the components produced, and the headquarters of Italian Engineering coordinates all activities.
Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
The function of the idler wheel is to provide appropriate tension and guidance for the track chain, ensuring its proper winding. The idler wheel and tensioner work together to maintain a specific degree of track tension. Efficient chain tension is a key factor affecting the durability of the undercarriage. Optimal deflection for conventional tracks is around 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track on a 80-horsepower machine with a deflection of 12mm will have a tension of 2540 kg when measured at the track tensioner. However, the same machine, at the suggested deflection of 50 mm, will have a tension value of 362 kg. An excessively tightened track increases pressure, leading to greater wear on the track bushings and drive wheel teeth, as well as contact between the chain and the idler wheel and rollers. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and running and support rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication ensures minimal maintenance throughout the service life.
