Functionality of ITR Tension Wheels
Idler wheels are a key element in maintaining proper tension and guiding the track chain, which translates into its proper winding. They work in conjunction with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for undercarriage durability. Correct tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, significantly impacts machine wear and efficiency. For example, an overly tight chain can lead to increased wear of the track bushings and drive wheel teeth. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and running and supporting rollers, ensures resistance to damage and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.
