Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
Idler wheels are a key element in maintaining the correct tension and guidance of the track chain, which translates into its proper winding. They work with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for chassis durability. Correct tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, has a significant impact on machine wear and performance. For example, an overly tight chain can lead to increased wear of track bushings and sprocket teeth. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and support and carrier rollers, provides damage resistance and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.
