Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
Idler wheels are a key component in maintaining proper tension and guidance of the track chain, which translates into its proper winding. They work with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for the durability of the undercarriage. Correct tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, significantly impacts the machine's wear and performance. For example, an overly tight chain can lead to increased wear on the track bushings and the drive wheel teeth. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and the traveling and support rollers, ensures resistance to damage and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.
