ITR Idler Wheel for HITACHI ZX38 U
Our Idler wheels are made from selected high-quality steel alloys and are properly heat-treated to ensure exceptional field performance in extreme working conditions. We assemble them using state-of-the-art seals and bearing designs, meeting the most stringent industry specifications. Our Idler wheels are assembled on production lines with an automatic oil filling process, ensuring their reliability and durability.
They are available in various configurations, including:
- Idler wheel shell
- Idler wheel with bushing and axle
- Idler wheel with brackets
- Idler wheel with fork
- Idler wheel with tensioner
Our Idler wheels are designed to meet all work requirements in harsh conditions, ensuring reliability and long lifespan.
Quality of ITR Idler Wheels
Our range includes a wide selection of idler wheels, from mini excavators to mining machines, providing high quality and performance. Starting from KUBOTA® K008 (with an operating weight of 0.9 tons) up to KOMATSU® D475 A5 (with an operating weight of 101 tons), we offer comprehensive solutions. Our engineering and R&D departments in Italy, South Korea, and China collaborate to combine know-how, technology, and development capabilities. Local engineering departments at each production plant possess specialized knowledge about the components produced, and the Italian Engineering headquarters coordinates all activities.
Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
The function of the idler wheel is to properly tension and guide the track chain, ensuring its correct winding. The idler wheel and tensioner work together to maintain the specified track tension. Efficient chain tension is a key factor affecting the durability of the undercarriage. The optimal slack for conventional tracks is about 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track on an 80-horsepower machine with a slack of 12mm will have a tension of 2540 kg when measured at the track tensioner. Meanwhile, the same machine, with the suggested slack of 50mm, will have a tension of 362 kg. An overly tightened track increases pressure, leading to greater wear on track bushings and sprocket teeth, as well as contact between the chain and idler wheel and rollers. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and travel and support rollers, ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Continuous lubrication ensures minimal maintenance throughout the service life.
