Functionality of ITR Tensioning Wheels
Tensioning wheels are a key element in maintaining the proper tension and guidance of the track chain, which translates into its correct winding. They work with the adjuster to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for chassis durability. Correct tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, has a significant impact on machine wear and performance. For instance, an overly tight chain can lead to greater wear of the track bushing and drive wheel teeth. The appropriate hardness of the tread, equal to or greater than the chain links and idler and carrier rollers, ensures resistance to damage and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.
