Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
Idler wheels are a key component in maintaining proper tension and guidance of the track chain, which translates into its proper winding. They work in conjunction with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for the durability of the undercarriage. Correct tension setting, for example, 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, significantly impacts the wear and performance of the machine. For instance, an overly tight chain can lead to increased wear on the track bushings and drive sprocket teeth. The appropriate hardness of the tread, equal to or greater than the chain links and carrier rollers, ensures damage resistance and increases longevity. Material: SCMn3A, hardened to 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication helps minimize maintenance during operation.
