Functionality of ITR Idler Wheels
Idler wheels are a key element in maintaining proper tension and guiding the track chain, which affects its proper winding. They work with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for the durability of the undercarriage. Proper tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, significantly impacts machine wear and performance. For example, an overly tight chain can lead to greater wear of the track bushing and drive sprocket teeth. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and running and support rollers, ensures damage resistance and increases durability. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication helps minimize maintenance during operation.
