Functionality of ITR idler wheels
Idler wheels are a key component in maintaining proper tension and guiding the track chain, which translates into its correct winding. They work with the tensioner to maintain optimal tension, which is crucial for the durability of the undercarriage. Proper tension setting, e.g., 50 mm (+-5mm) for conventional tracks, significantly impacts machine wear and efficiency. For instance, an overly tight chain can lead to greater wear of the track bushing and sprocket teeth. Appropriate tread hardness, equal to or greater than the chain links and support and carrier rollers, ensures resistance to damage and increases longevity. Material: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Constant lubrication contributes to minimizing maintenance during operation.
