ITR Tensioning Wheel for CATERPILLAR 299 C
They are made from selected high-quality steel alloys and properly heat-treated to ensure exceptional field performance in extreme working conditions. Idler wheels ITR are assembled using state-of-the-art seals and bearing designs, manufactured in accordance with the strictest industry specifications. Assembly takes place on assembly lines with an automatic oil filling process. Idler wheels can be selected in various configurations:

Functionality of ITR Tensioning Wheels
The function of the tensioning wheel is to support the track chain and guide it to ensure it is properly wound. Additionally, the tensioning wheel and the tensioner work together to maintain a specified degree of track tension. The most important controllable factor in undercarriage wear is correct chain tension. The correct deflection for all conventional tracks is approximately 50mm (+-5mm). For example, a track in an 80-horsepower machine with a 12mm deflection will have a tension value of 2540 kg when measured in the track tensioner. The same machine with a suggested deflection of 50mm will have a tension value of 362 kg. An excessively tensioned track increases pressure, causing greater wear on the track bushings when in contact with the drive wheel teeth and in the track-tensioning wheel-roller contact. Tread hardness equal to or greater than chain links, track rollers, and support rollers ensures impact resistance and balanced durability. Material type: SCMn3A, hardening 50-55 HRC. Lifetime lubrication to minimize maintenance.
